I originally became fascinated in the vivid colours and peculiar contours of real mushrooms, fungus and toadstools. Each of my pieces is formed into imaginative shapes which use unconventional colours that do not exist in nature but exist in my imaginary mushroom world. Despite their unnatural colour schemes, I carefully selected colours that would complement each other aesthetically yet still appear possible in nature as poisonous species which, at once, appear dangerous to touch because of their colours, but are also so tactile because of their crocheted texture that they are impossible not to touch. This is one of the main challenges of my work that I wish to present to the viewer so that they might question their own conceptions of what jewellery is, and can be. |  | Exhibitions
